Tooth Fillings
We offer several types of “white” restorative materials. Our office does not perform amalgam or “silver” fillings.
Composite restorations and glass ionomer restorations are the types of fillings available in our office. They are a quick procedure and are usually provided in cases when the tooth decay or defect is small or medium in size. The average composite restoration will last 5 years, with some lasting more than 10 years. A composite restoration’s success will vary depending on many factors. Poor oral hygiene and diet can cause a filling to not last as long.
When a cavity is too large for a filling, a crown may be necessary. Our office carries stainless steel (silver) and zirconia (white) crowns.
